About the Position
KT&G Global Kazakhstan is looking for a Business Development Manager (Supervisor) in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The role is responsible for managing field sales development activities, supporting marketing execution, and driving trade performance across the assigned territory. The position combines team supervision, territory development, and coordination of sales and marketing initiatives to strengthen the company’s market presence.
Responsibilities:
Team Management
- Manage a team of Sales Development Specialists, including setting goals and work plans.
- Coordinate employees’ activities to increase representation and visibility.
- Monitor the achievement of goals and execution of the work plan.
- Conduct field training and assess employees’ performance.
Analysis
- Establish comprehensive territory management, including analysis of the tobacco market situation and sales data within the territory.
- Maintain knowledge of the key product suppliers in the territory.
- Participate in the development of the territory growth plan.
- Ensure the implementation of trade programs within the assigned territory.
- Plan the deployment and monitor the placement of KT&G Global Kazakhstan equipment at retail outlets to ensure the accuracy and relevance of information in the territory retail outlet database.
- Ensure the collection and submission of sales information from selected retail outlets.
Collaboration
- Ensure effective cooperation with key trade partners, including those in the regions when required, through regular visits to retail outlets within the territory.
- Regularly collect information from trade partners.
- Prepare required reports on completed activities.
- Organize the preparation, negotiation, and signing of economically beneficial contracts (agreements) with retail outlets, local key accounts in the traditional retail channel, and wholesale customers within approved budget authority limits in order to increase the sales of the Company’s products and ensure the efficient use of resources.
Coordination and Planning
- Ensure the creation of a platform for interaction with adult tobacco consumers: control the search for potential locations for marketing activities within the territory.
- Coordinate marketing activities within the territory of key trade partners.
- Ensure the preparation and execution of targeted marketing activity programs.
Financial Function Support
- Organize monthly joint training tours with territorial sales managers.
Requirements:
Experience
- Experience in marketing or sales of 3+ years (including at least 1 year in a managerial position and at least 2 years in marketing or sales).
Knowledge
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Principles of management, budgeting, and accounting.
- Basics of labor legislation.
- Sales, distribution, marketing, trade marketing, consumers, advertising, business environment, redistribution, WS, retail chains, regional specifics of the tobacco market.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a multitasking environment and meet deadlines.
- Language: English (ability to prepare work reports in English).
