Job Summary:
The Head of Fleet Management is responsible for leading and optimizing all fleet-related operations to ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective transportation services. The role oversees the full lifecycle of fleet assets, including planning, acquisition, utilization, maintenance, fuel management, compliance, and disposal, while ensuring maximum operational availability and supporting business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement fleet management strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure efficient fleet utilization, operational readiness, and service performance.
- Lead fleet lifecycle management, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of assets.
- Oversee fleet operations, dispatch activities, and resource allocation to support business needs.
- Establish and monitor fleet maintenance, inspection, safety, and compliance programs.
- Manage fleet budgets, operating costs, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Drive fuel efficiency, sustainability, and environmental compliance programs.
- Lead procurement activities, supplier relationships, and contract management.
- Utilize telematics, fleet systems, and data analytics to improve operational performance and decision-making.
- Develop departmental KPIs, governance standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Fleet Management team while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's Degree in Transportation Management, Engineering, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Master's Degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in fleet, transportation, logistics, or operations management.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing teams.
- Experience managing large-scale fleets (500+ vehicles preferred).
- Experience in aviation, transportation, logistics, or heavy equipment environments is desirable.
- Fleet Management Systems and Telematics.
- Vehicle Maintenance and Asset Lifecycle Management.
- Budgeting and Financial Analysis.
- Contract and Vendor Management.
- Transportation Safety and Regulatory Compliance.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Experience with ERP systems and Power BI is preferred.
