We are looking for a Head of HSE to lead the Environmental, Health & Safety agenda across the BCCA commercial and manufacturing region within a large FMCG organization.
The role is responsible for shaping and executing the EHS strategy, embedding safety, health, and environmental priorities into business operations, and ensuring safe, compliant, and sustainable performance across manufacturing sites, logistics, and commercial functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the EHS strategy for the BCCA region in line with global FMCG standards and business priorities.
- Drive full integration of EHS into end-to-end operations, including manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and commercial activities.
- Lead the development of a strong safety culture across sites, promoting a proactive risk prevention mindset and “Zero Harm” ambition.
- Define key EHS priorities (must-win battles), set KPIs, and ensure effective execution and performance management across the region.
- Oversee EHS risk management, including audits, incident investigations, and corrective/preventive actions across operations.
- Ensure compliance with local legislation and global EHS governance standards.
- Influence EHS budgeting and investment decisions to ensure effective prioritization of safety and environmental initiatives.
- Act as a key partner in business decision-making affecting safety, health, and environmental performance.
- Develop EHS capabilities of site leadership teams and embed accountability beyond the EHS function.
- Lead and develop the regional EHS team, including coaching, mentoring, and talent development.
- Drive adoption of digital EHS systems and tools (MyEHS, GEHSMS, Global Brain, My Learning) to improve transparency and decision-making.
- Monitor performance using leading and lagging indicators (e.g., TRIR, LTI) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with regional and European teams (RUBCCA / Europe) to share best practices and support global initiatives.
- Ensure timely and effective execution of EHS projects across the region.
Requirements:
- University degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related technical field. Additional EHS certifications are an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in people and/or project management, including proven leadership of teams.
- Strong experience in EHS, industrial safety, or environmental management within FMCG or manufacturing environments.
- Solid understanding of EHS legislation, regulatory requirements, and international environmental and safety standards.
- Experience managing permits, licenses, and compliance requirements in accordance with local regulatory frameworks.
- Strong capability in managing sensitive and complex situations, including incident investigation and stakeholder alignment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills at all organizational levels.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and influence without direct authority.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
