Contracts Specialist

Juru is looking for a Contracts Specialist to join our growing team and take ownership of contract management across our multi-jurisdictional operations. As our project portfolio expands across Central Asia, the UK, and beyond, we need someone who can manage the full contract lifecycle, strengthen our risk management processes, and help build the tools and playbooks that keep our contracting function running smoothly as we scale.

Key resonsibilities:

Contract Management:

• Draft and negotiate Service, Employment, Corporate, and NDA agreements tailored to project needs;
• Lead negotiations with partners and subcontractors on scope, payment milestones, and liability allocation;
• Manage the formal execution and signing process in line with internal approval policies;
• Monitor active contracts for compliance with agreed terms, notice periods, and renewal deadlines;
• Run formal close-outs — confirming all obligations are met, final payments released, and lessons learned documented for future reference.

Risk & Disputes:

• Develop and apply risk checklists and scoring tools to flag legal or financial red flags during negotiation;
• Design protective measures such as performance bonds, insurance requirements, and step-in rights to safeguard company interests;
• Lead resolution of contractual disputes and variation claims, preparing supporting documentation to limit financial exposure and project delays.

Process & Templates:

• Own and maintain the library of standard contract templates across all recurring agreement types;
• Regularly audit and update templates in response to changing laws, market conditions, or internal feedback;
• Map and streamline workflows between Contracting, Finance, and Implementation teams to cut bottlenecks and reduce approval turnaround.

​​​​​​​Stakeholder Management:

• Act as the primary point of coordination between Finance (on payment terms and tax treatment) and Project teams (on scope and delivery);
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, partners, and subcontractors that keep contract terms collaborative rather than adversarial.

​​​​​​​Training & Playbook:

• Deliver periodic training for non-legal staff (Project Managers, Sales, Finance) to build contractual literacy and improve their ability to spot risk early;
• Maintain a Negotiation Playbook giving staff pre-approved fallback clauses and guidance for handling common counterparty objections.

Reporting:

• Prepare monthly reports for Senior Management covering contract volume, turnaround times, and pending approvals;
• Maintain a risk and liability dashboard flagging high-risk provisions, upcoming contract expirations, and potential financial exposure across the portfolio.

• Completed LLB (or equivalent law degree); additional coursework or training in international commercial law or construction law is an advantage;
• Prior experience in contract management or commercial legal work is a plus but not required — fresh graduates with strong academic performance, relevant coursework, moot court, or internship experience will be considered;
• Demonstrated ability (or clear aptitude) to draft and negotiate Service, Employment, Corporate, and NDA agreements, with working knowledge of risk allocation mechanisms — performance bonds, insurance requirements, step-in rights, and liability caps;
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (comfortable building trackers, checklists, and simple dashboards) and comfortable owning a CLM system or contract tracker (e.g., Asana-based workflows);
• Able to read and interpret payment milestones, VAT/tax implications, and liability exposure in commercial terms;
• Fluent English required; Russian and/or Uzbek an advantage given cross-border correspondence with regional counterparties.
