Job Title: Safety Specialist
Company: Martian Express Co.

Position Summary
Owns FMCSA compliance for the driver fleet — from pre-hire screening through termination — ensuring the company avoids regulatory violations, safety penalties, and CSA score risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Review MVR, PSP, FMCSA Clearinghouse, and state records to approve/reject driver candidates
• Verify CDL class, endorsements, and DOT medical cards
• Run onboarding: drug testing, DOT paperwork, safety testing, DQF creation
• Conduct previous employment verification (3-year lookback per FMCSA)
• Monitor CDL status daily; track expiring documents and Conditional Status drivers
• Manage post-accident response and mandatory drug/alcohol testing
• Log and route driver citations and violations; support DataQs disputes
• Administer FMCSA random drug/alcohol testing program
• Track IFTA stickers, permits, MCS-150 filings, and Form 2290 tax
• Monitor CSA/SMS BASIC scores monthly; escalate risk to Safety Manager
• Deactivate Ditat accounts on termination; maintain DQF retention compliance

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations (49 CFR Parts 382, 391)
• High attention to detail; comfortable with compliance deadlines and documentation
• Experience with Samba Safety, FMCSA Clearinghouse/SMS, Ditat, Samsara, or similar systems (preferred)
