We are looking for an experienced Environmental & Social (E&S) Manager to manage environmental and social risks across a diverse range of businesses, projects, and operating assets.
The role will focus on ensuring compliance with applicable national legislation and recognized international E&S standards and supporting effective Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS).
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and continuously improve Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS).
- Conduct and coordinate Environmental & Social Due Diligence (ESDD), risk assessments, site inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Identify and categorize E&S risks across businesses, projects, facilities, and operations.
- Review ESIAs, permits, licenses, audit reports, and other relevant E&S documentation.
- Ensure compliance with national legislation and international standards, including IFC Performance Standards, World Bank Group EHS Guidelines, and ILO standards.
- Develop and monitor E&S action plans and corrective measures.
- Monitor environmental, social, occupational health & safety, labor, and community-related risks.
- Prepare periodic E&S reports for management, shareholders, lenders, and other relevant stakeholders, as required.
- Report material E&S issues and cases of non-compliance and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Coordinate with operational teams, external consultants, auditors, authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Provide E&S guidance, training, and awareness support across relevant businesses and projects.
Requirements
- University degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Social Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in E&S risk management, environmental assessment, sustainability, HSE/EHS, or a related area.
- Good knowledge of environmental and social legislation and international E&S standards.
- Experience in real estate, retail, logistics, infrastructure, construction, industrial operations, or other commercial sectors is an advantage.
- Experience in site inspections, audits, risk assessment, and preparation of E&S reports.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent English and working knowledge of Russian and/or Uzbek.
