Head of Legal Department

Fergana Azot, a leading producer of chemical fertilizers in Uzbekistan, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to join our team as Head of Legal Department. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring full legal compliance and supporting the company’s strategic growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Corporate Governance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with JSC Law, Civil Code, and Board documentation requirements
• Liaise with Ministry of Chemistry and State Assets Management Agency

Contract Management & Commercial Law

• Draft and negotiate major contracts: procurement, EPC, technology transfer, IP
• Manage international trade contracts (CIS & global); INCOTERMS, letters of credit

Litigation & Dispute Resolution

• Represent enterprise in civil, administrative & arbitration proceedings (incl. TIAC)
• Manage external counsel; resolve pre-litigation commercial disputes

Regulatory, Environmental & Industrial Safety Law

• Advise on hazardous chemical regulations, environmental permitting, and HSSE compliance
• Interface with State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection

Labour Law & HR Legal Support

• Labour Code compliance, collective bargaining, workforce restructuring, dismissals
• Handle employee-related litigation and labour inspection proceedings

REQUIREMENTS:

Total Experience - 5–10 years minimum legal practice
Industry Experience - Experience in chemical, petrochemical, or state-owned enterprise
International Exp. - Cross-border contracts (CIS, EU, Middle East) preferred
Uzbek Corporate Law - In-depth knowledge of Uzbek corporate law required — JSC legislation, Civil Code, Presidential Decrees & Government Resolutions
Languages - Uzbek, Russian & English — all fluent (mandatory)
