Learning Support Assistant (1:1 Student Support)

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant (1:1 Student Support). The ideal candidate will provide high-quality individualised support to a designated student, helping to ensure their academic, social, and emotional development.

Start date: August 2026

Responsibilities:

• Support the student with visual impairment in accessing lesson content across all subjects in an English-medium learning environment
• Assist the student in navigation, organisation, and self-management of support needs
• Assist the student in participating fully in wider school life, including enrichment activities.
• Support the use of assistive technology such as laptops, screen readers, speech-to-text tools, and accessible platforms
• Liaise with teachers to ensure lesson resources are provided in advance for adaptation
• Assist with note-taking, organisation and adaptation of learning materials

Requeirments:

Essential

• Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), preferably visual impairment
• Strong spoken and written English
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff
• Understanding of inclusive education and student-centred support
• Confidence using educational technology and willingness to learn assistive technology systems
• Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
• Patient, proactive, and able to promote student independence rather than dependency

Desirable

• Knowledge of visual impairment support strategies in educational settings
• Experience in an international school or English-medium school environment
• Relevant qualifications in education, SEND, or learning support.
