The Manager performs the following duties and responsibilities:
- ensures the implementation of work related to the recording of student performance assessments and corresponding entries displayed in their transcripts in SIS;
- ensures the timely submission of final and interim student performance assessments by teachers, as well as interaction with teachers and school administrators on all matters related to their issuance;
- participates in the preparation and distribution of mid-term and end-of-term reports, and collects and processes the Schools' decisions/responses based on the results of the review of the reports;
- transfers data on newly enrolled students from the Admissions Office database to the Registrar's Office database in cooperation with the Admissions Office and IT services;
- participates in the collection of necessary information and interacts with the relevant Schools and departments to create student accounts and correctly enter data into the SIS for students who interact with the University within the framework of academic mobility programmes;
- ensures the control and organisation of work related to the transfer of data on University students to state databases, including their correct reflection in the national educational databases of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- collects and processes student data to ensure its accuracy and reliability (ensuring ‘clean data’ in SIS);
- assists management in analysing data for timely management decisions.
- processes the requests in compliance with room booking instructions;
- provides assistance to users on room booking requests and room occupancy;
- provides input on new initiatives for the improvement of processes in the room booking area;
- collaborates with system developers to improve and test room booking system functions;
- oversees the process of updating classroom attributes set up in the SIS in collaboration with the “University Service Management” private entity.
- ensures compliance with university policy and procedures and regulatory acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan to protect confidential student data;
- handles ad-hoc and scheduled reporting for internal units and external stakeholders;
- manages official correspondence with government authorities and third parties, including preparing and sending verification letters, maintaining communication on student document confirmation;
- creates and maintains user manuals and procedural documentation.
- contributes to the automation of routine data processing tasks and improves the efficiency of SIS functions when handling complex data requests;
- monitors current IT technologies and process innovations with a view to improving the use of big data;
- provides technical expertise and support to staff and project teams within its area of competence.
Education requirements (level, field, licenses, professional certifications, etc.):
- Higher-professional, preferable from the higher education institutions with the English language of instruction;
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, data science, economics, mathematics, or a related field;
- Master’s degree is preferred
Work experience requirements:
- 2 years of relevant experience in data analytics and reporting;
- experience in using database systems and manipulating data;
- experience in writing technical specifications for the development of interfaces and functional modules for large information and analytical systems (applicable to student data accounting, would be an advantage)
Knowledge
- advanced user of Microsoft software products: Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI;
- advance user of SQL;
- familiarity with project management preferred;
- knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the Status of Nazarbayev University, Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, and Nazarbayev Fund”, as well as other legislative and regulatory acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of data governance, data usage and protection, personal data storage and maintenance.
