Treasury Specialist

Purpose:

The Treasury Specialist supports treasury operations for Kazakhstan & CAM entities by ensuring efficient cash management, compliance with local currency control requirements, timely execution of banking transactions, and effective coordination with banks and internal stakeholders. The role contributes to maintaining financial controls, supporting working capital management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations.

Responsibilities:

Manage Treasury Operations and Working Capital

• Monitor daily cash balances and support efficient liquidity management.
• Coordinate payment execution with GBS, banks, and business stakeholders, ensuring timely processing and issue resolution.
• Execute manual payments through electronic banking platforms when required.
• Execute and coordinate FX transactions, deposits, loans, and other money market activities.
• Monitor customer accounts receivable and credit limit utilization.
• Ensure timely receipt of customer payments and proactively address payment delays or discrepancies.
• Maintain customer master data, including payment terms and credit limits in SAP.
• Cooperate with distributors and customers to support timely settlement of outstanding balances.
• Ensure treasury transactions are accurately recorded in SAP and other company systems

Ensure Regulatory Compliance and Treasury Controls

• Administer compliance with local currency control regulations and banking requirements.
• Register export and import contracts with banks and conduct regular reviews in accordance with Kazakhstan legislation.
• Prepare and submit reports to the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• Liaise with banks on treasury, regulatory and currency control matters.
• Manage treasury-related document flow and ensure proper maintenance and archiving records.
• Execute JSOX and KAR controls and maintain supporting documentation.
• Provide required information and documentation during internal and external audits.
• Adhere to company policies, internal controls, EHS, labor safety and compliance standards.

Drive Treasury Systems and Continuous Improvement

• Initiate treasury-related requests, system updates and change requests in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Participate in SAP testing and process improvement initiatives.
• Monitor exchange rate uploads and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Provide guidance to employees and GBS teams on treasury processes, banking operations and local currency legislation.
• Provide back up support for the Treasury Manager during periods of absence.
• Participate in ad hoc treasury and finance projects as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• University degree in Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Treasury, Accounting or a similar function.
• Strong knowledge of currency control regulations, banking legislation, taxation and financial regulations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, reconciliation processes and IFRS.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP and accounting systems such as 1C.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Fluent English and Russian; knowledge of Kazakh would be an advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Understanding internal controls, compliance requirements, and corporate policies.
