Purpose
Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Kazakhstan is looking for a commercially driven Sales Manager to accelerate profitable growth, expand the customer portfolio, and strengthen our market position in Kazakhstan and the wider Central Asia region.
The role is responsible for identifying and converting new business opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, and selling end-to-end logistics solutions across international freight forwarding, road, rail, air and ocean freight, customs brokerage, transportation, warehousing, contract logistics and broader supply chain services.
The successful candidate will work closely with local operations, product teams, regional colleagues and the global Hellmann network to design practical, compliant and value-adding logistics solutions for customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Sales Growth
- Identify, qualify and win new customers across target industries and trade lanes relevant for Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, with clear ownership of prospects, opportunities, expected revenue and gross profit potential.
- Develop and execute account and territory plans aligned with company growth objectives.
- Lead the full sales cycle: prospecting, customer meetings, needs analysis, solution development, quotation, negotiation and contract closure.
- Achieve agreed revenue, gross profit, new business and activity KPIs while ensuring long-term profitability.
2. Key Account Development
- Build trusted relationships with decision makers and operational stakeholders within existing and potential customers.
- Understand customer supply chains, pain points, purchasing criteria, compliance requirements and service expectations.
- Conduct regular business reviews, identify improvement areas and convert customer feedback into concrete development actions.
- Drive retention, account growth, cross-selling and upselling across Hellmann products and geographies.
- Act as the commercial owner for strategic accounts and ensure smooth coordination between customer requirements and internal delivery teams.
3. Solution Development, Pricing & Tender Support
- Collaborate with operations, product and pricing teams to design competitive and operationally realistic logistics solutions.
- Prepare professional quotations, commercial proposals, tender submissions and customer presentations.
- Support RFQ/RFP processes, pricing validation and contract negotiations in coordination with management and relevant product owners.
- Present Hellmann solutions clearly, including value proposition, service scope, network capabilities, implementation approach and commercial terms.
- Ensure proposed solutions are aligned with operational feasibility, compliance standards and profit expectations.
4. Market Intelligence & Network Collaboration
- Monitor market developments, competitor activity, customer trends, capacity changes and trade-lane opportunities.
- Represent Hellmann professionally at customer meetings, industry events, networking activities and market visits.
- Share relevant market intelligence with management and internal stakeholders to support business planning.
- Coordinate with regional and global Hellmann teams on international opportunities, network sales leads and multinational customers.
- Contribute to a collaborative sales culture focused on pipeline discipline, customer experience and profitable growth.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade or a related field.
- 5+ years of successful B2B sales, business development or key account management experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, customs brokerage or supply chain services.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets, winning new customers and developing profitable accounts.
- Strong understanding of the Kazakhstan logistics market, customer requirements, transport modes and end-to-end supply chain processes.
- Established professional network and existing customer contacts in the freight forwarding / logistics market are strongly preferred.
- Experience with complex sales cycles, RFQs/RFPs, pricing discussions, tender preparation and commercial negotiations.
- CRM discipline and ability to maintain accurate pipeline, activity and sales reporting.
- English language proficiency at Intermediate level or higher; Russian is required for local customer communication. Kazakh is an advantage.
