Junior Portfolio Analyst

Investbanq is an AI-powered wealth operating system for family offices, asset managers, and banks. We are empowering traditional financial institutions to rapidly transform into AI-driven WealthTech players, enabling them to effectively capitalize on the growing wealth transfer to affluent millennials and other digital natives across emerging Asia and MENA. We are scaling quickly across Asia and MENA and are assembling a high‑calibre engineering team to power our next phase of growth.

Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and intellectually curious Junior Portfolio Analyst to join our investment team in Almaty. You will work closely with the Portfolio Manager and Senior Portfolio Analyst (team of three) to support discretionary portfolio management across equities and bonds. This role is ideal for someone who is genuinely passionate about financial markets and eager to develop hands-on portfolio management experience in a fast-growing WealthTech environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support idea generation across equities and fixed income markets;
• Perform portfolio analytics, performance attribution, and risk monitoring;
• Monitor positions and recommend profit-taking, trimming, or rebalancing actions;
• Prepare client reports, investment commentaries, and presentation materials;
• Track macroeconomic developments and assess market implications;
• Liaise with the technology team to enhance the Investbanq platform, including automation and analytics improvements;
• Contribute to the development of internal investment tools and dashboards;
• Maintain high-quality investment documentation and research notes.

Requirements

• Genuine interest and curiosity in global financial markets;
• Solid understanding of macroeconomics and how key indicators interrelate (rates, inflation, growth, liquidity);
• Academic foundation in asset class valuation (equities and fixed income);
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills;
• Good presentation and communication abilities;
• High attention to detail and strong work ethic;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment;
• Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Python/SQL or data tools is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field;
• Progress toward or interest in CFA or similar professional certification;
• Exposure to portfolio management, asset management, or research environments.
