Job Summary:

Almaty International Airport is seeking a proactive and experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as a strategic advisor and operational support to business units. The HRBP will act as a trusted partner to department heads and managers, aligning human resources practices with organizational goals. This role requires a deep understanding of HR functions, labor legislation, and business operations within a dynamic airport environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Partner with department leaders to understand business goals and provide tailored HR support and solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with the airport’s operational and strategic objectives.
  • Advise and coach managers on workforce planning, team structure, performance management, and employee relations & engagement.

Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and workplace concerns.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and compliance with the Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  • Support and facilitate performance appraisal processes and follow-up development plans.

Talent Management & Development

  • Participate in recruitment planning and onboarding processes for assigned departments.
  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate training or development initiatives in collaboration with the L&D team.
  • Support succession planning and career development discussions within departments.

HR Projects & Initiatives

  • Take part in the implementation of airport-wide HR programs, such as employee engagement, DEI, talent retention, and recognition programs.
  • Collaborate with other HR functions (Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, L&D, HR Administration) to deliver integrated HR solutions.
  • Promote and support the corporate culture through participation in events, internal campaigns, and communication efforts.

Data & Reporting

  • Analyze HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, performance ratings, etc.) to identify trends and recommend actions.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for business units and HR leadership.
  • Ensure accurate HR documentation and recordkeeping in coordination with HR Administration.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a business partnering role.
  • Previous experience in aviation, transport, oil and gas, mining or infrastructure industries is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of HR processes and Kazakhstan Labor Code.
  • Excellent command of Kazakh, Russian and English (Upper-Intermediate and higher).
  • Proven ability to influence, advise, and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with HRIS systems.

  • Office location - Almaty International Airport, Mailin St. 42
  • Work schedule 5 days per week, working hours from 8.00 to 17.00 (lunch break from 12.00 to 13.00)
