YASHIL FERMA JV LLC is a Hungarian poultry cluster in Uzbekistan, supported by OTP Group, a leading European bank (EUR 60B assets, owner of Ipoteka Bank in Uzbekistan).
We are building a modern poultry complex in the Syrdarya region (near Gulistan, Yangiyer, Khavas), producing 22,000 tons of poultry meat annually, including 4,000 tons processed.
The project includes a 2,000 m² processing plant, a 12.5M broiler/year slaughterhouse (expandable to 25M), 8 farms, and a 5,000 m² hatchery producing 12.6M chicks per year.
We are currently looking for an Head of Agricultural Operations.
The Head of Agricultural Operations will be responsible for managing and coordinating construction phase and all agricultural production units of the Company, including the hatchery, feed mill, broiler farms, and health & biosecurity operations. The role requires both strategic and operational leadership during the investment, start-up, and production phases, will report directly to the Director of Production and Operations (COO).
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development of Company-level concepts, strategic, business, and operational project plans.
- Plan and organize the operations of producing assets: hatchery, feed mill, and broiler farms.
- Prepare internal regulations, instructions, and define final processes and infrastructure requirements related to agricultural operations.
- Review and sign off on technology selection during the investment phase; supervise the production process of equipment and technology, as well as assembly, installation, and commissioning inspections from a technological and operational perspective.
- Ensure proper acceptance of services and works at agricultural production facilities, actively participate in acceptance procedures.
- Plan and manage production start-ups of all agricultural units.
- Develop and implement the procurement regulation for agricultural production after start-up.
- Manage and obtain the necessary permits and licenses for agricultural operations.
- Manage, supervise, and ensure performance of production activities post start-up.
- Plan, manage, and supervise procurement, logistics, warehousing (stock management), and distribution of feedstocks and finished products.
- Participate in the preparation and negotiation of contracts related to production activities.
- Ensure compliance with requirements of special production-related operations (e.g., sewage treatment, hazardous waste management).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports with data required for production forecasts.
- Maintain effective interaction with authorities and supervisory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance and HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) systems during and after the investment period.
- Continuously monitor cost management of the department and ensure proper use of the allocated budget.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Agricultural Engineering, Food Engineering, or related fields.
- Additional training or certifications in Operations Management, Quality Management Systems, or Project Management is highly desirable.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the poultry, feed, or integrated agribusiness sector.
- At least 10 years in senior management/leadership positions overseeing multi-site or integrated agricultural operations.
- Proven track record in both investment/start-up phase and operational management.
Languages
- Fluent English (C1, upper intermediate level, for international communication, documentation, and technology suppliers).
- Uzbek and Russian- C1 (Upper intermediate leve;)
