Responsibilities:
The Academic Director will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and enhancement of validated academic programmes at IDU, delivered in English. The role involves close collaboration with faculty, academic staff, and international partners to ensure that programmes remain innovative, relevant, and aligned with the institution’s strategic objectives.
Academic leadership of the international partnership programmes of IDU.
Lead and manage academic staff including developing staffing requirements, recruiting and development of staff.
Line management of academic staff with the assistance of the programme managers
Lead the design and implementation of new academic programmes that support the university’s strategic goals.
The quality Assurance of international programmes in accordance with the requirements of partners.
Review and update with the programme managers existing programmes to maintain quality, relevance, and compliance with academic standards.
Ensure with programme managers all validated programmes meet the requirements of partner institutions and accreditation bodies.
Manage with the programme managers the academic relationships with the partner university and coordinate academic collaboration.
Assist in the Establishment of new academic partnerships with universities and institutions worldwide.
Prepare programme proposals, curriculum documentation, and other academic materials for approval.
Conduct research into higher education trends and best practice to inform programme development.
Provide training and professional development opportunities for faculty to strengthen teaching and curriculum design.
Liaise with external stakeholders, including industry partners, academic institutions, and regulatory bodies.
Contribute to the strategic management of the university as a member of the Executive Council.
Requirements:
Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
At least 7 years of experience in academic programme development and implementation, preferably in higher education.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Proven ability to manage academic partnerships and collaborative projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
Understanding of UK higher education standards and the transnational education (TNE) model.
Knowledge of academic accreditation processes and international higher education standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
Proficiency in English, with an understanding of either Uzbek or Russian.
