German language Teacher, DaF

Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, and deliver German language courses for undergraduate students at different proficiency levels (A1–B1).

• Prepare course materials, lesson plans, assignments, and assessment activities in accordance with CEFR standards.

• Teach German language skills, including grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

• Apply communicative and student-centred teaching methods, including pair work, group activities, dialogues, and interactive tasks.

• Assess students’ learning progress through formative and summative assessments, including midterm and final examinations.

• Provide constructive feedback and academic support to help students improve their language proficiency.

• Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, performance, grades, and academic progress.

• Use digital learning platforms and educational technologies to support teaching and learning.

• Adapt teaching strategies and materials to students’ individual learning needs and proficiency levels.

• Participate in academic, extracurricular, and international activities organized within the TSUE–IMC Krems Joint Degree Programme.

• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the development and improvement of language courses and teaching materials.

• Support students in developing intercultural communication skills and preparing for an international academic and professional environment.

Requirements:

• Master’s/PhD degree in German Language, Philology, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.

• Strong proficiency in German, preferably at C1–C2 level.

• Previous experience teaching German as a foreign language, preferably in higher education.

• Knowledge of CEFR and experience teaching students at different proficiency levels.

• Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to develop lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, and assessments.

• Experience with digital learning platforms and educational technologies.

• Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural academic environment.
