Job Purpose

At Coventry University Kazakhstan, the HR Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the university’s human resources administration, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service to staff across the institution. This role involves applying key HR processes, offering guidance on employment matters, and promoting a positive and inclusive work environment in alignment with the institution's mission, values, and strategic goals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate orientation and induction programmes for new employees, ensuring they are integrated into the university culture.
  • Provide comprehensive onboarding support for international staff, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into the university and life in Kazakhstan.
  • Meet international employees at the airport and assist with relocation and settling-in arrangements, including accommodation, local logistics, obtaining an Individual Identification Number (IIN), Electronic Digital Signature (EDS), opening bank/Kaspi accounts, obtaining a local SIM card.
  • Handles all administrative tasks of the department.
  • Participate in HR related projects and initiatives, such as diversity and inclusion programmes, employee satisfaction surveys, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other departments to drive strategic initiatives that support the university’s goals.
  • Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • HR qualification or working towards it would be an advantage.
  • Proven experience in an HR role, preferably in the education sector.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a diverse university community.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing recruitment platforms such as LinkedIn, Head Hunter, and other tools.
  • Thorough understanding of the Legislation of Kazakhstan related to the recruitment and administration of foreign workers.
  • Familiarity with visa processes, work permits, and legal requirements for foreign employment.
  • Proficiency in English, fluency in Russian and/or Kazakh language essential.
