Head of Driver Recruitment – U.S. Trucking Operations

About the Role

Premier Trucking Group is looking for a strong and results-driven Head of Driver Recruitment to lead and improve our CDL driver recruitment function for U.S. trucking operations.

This role is responsible for building a consistent pipeline of qualified CDL drivers, managing the driver recruitment team, improving candidate quality, reducing hiring delays, and ensuring that driver openings are filled on time.

We are not looking for a basic recruiter. We need someone who understands high-volume recruitment, recruiter accountability, candidate follow-up, driver screening, hiring KPIs, and the urgency of U.S. trucking operations.

The right candidate must be able to lead recruiters, improve the hiring funnel, control recruitment activity, and make sure qualified drivers move through the process quickly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Driver Recruitment Strategy

  • Build, manage, and improve the full CDL driver recruitment process.
  • Develop a consistent pipeline of qualified U.S.-based company drivers.
  • Create and improve driver sourcing strategies through job boards, social media, referrals, databases, and direct outreach.
  • Identify the best sourcing channels for CDL driver candidates.
  • Improve recruitment speed, candidate quality, and offer acceptance rates.
  • Reduce delays between first contact, screening, documentation, approval, and onboarding.

Recruitment Team Management

  • Lead, train, and supervise the driver recruitment team.
  • Assign driver hiring targets and daily recruitment tasks to recruiters.
  • Monitor recruiter activity, follow-ups, calls, candidate pipeline, and hiring results.
  • Set clear KPIs for recruiters and hold the team accountable for performance.
  • Coach recruiters on candidate communication, screening quality, and follow-up discipline.
  • Identify weak recruiters, weak sourcing channels, and weak process steps before they damage hiring results.

Driver Screening and Qualification Control

  • Ensure CDL driver candidates are properly screened before moving forward.
  • Review candidate experience, CDL history, employment background, safety record, communication quality, and availability.
  • Ensure required driver documents are collected and reviewed properly.
  • Coordinate with Safety and HR regarding MVR, PSP, Clearinghouse, drug test, medical card, employment verification, and onboarding requirements.
  • Prevent unqualified or high-risk candidates from moving too far in the hiring process.
  • Improve screening questions, interview structure, and candidate evaluation standards.

Driver Hiring Funnel Management

  • Track every stage of the driver recruitment funnel from lead to hired driver.
  • Monitor candidate conversion rates, drop-off points, and recruiter follow-up quality.
  • Ensure qualified candidates are not lost due to slow communication or unclear process steps.
  • Improve communication between Recruitment, HR, Safety, Dispatch, Fleet, and Operations.
  • Make sure driver candidates receive clear information about company expectations, schedule, pay structure, onboarding, and required documentation.

Reporting and Recruitment KPIs

  • Track and report driver recruitment KPIs, including:
    • Number of driver leads;
    • Qualified candidates;
    • Applications completed;
    • MVR/PSP/Clearinghouse pass rate;
    • Drug test completion;
    • Orientation/onboarding completion;
    • Hired drivers;
    • Time-to-hire;
    • Cost-per-hire;
    • Source effectiveness;
    • Recruiter productivity;
    • Candidate drop-off rate;
    • Early driver turnover.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly recruitment reports for management.
  • Use recruitment data to identify problems and improve hiring results.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment pipeline reports, candidate tracking, and hiring dashboards.

Driver Retention Support

  • Work with HR, Driver Relations, Dispatch, Safety, and Operations to understand why drivers leave.
  • Identify patterns in early driver turnover and failed hires.
  • Improve candidate communication before hire to reduce misunderstanding after onboarding.
  • Support retention by helping recruiters present the role clearly and honestly to candidates.
  • Ensure drivers are not hired under false expectations or incomplete information.

Employer Branding and Candidate Attraction

  • Improve how the company presents itself to CDL driver candidates.
  • Support driver-focused job postings, recruitment campaigns, referral campaigns, and social media hiring content.
  • Ensure job ads are clear, attractive, accurate, and compliant with company standards.
  • Build a professional candidate experience from first contact to onboarding.
  • Protect the company’s image through professional and consistent communication with candidates.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of driver recruitment management experience required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of driver recruitment experience is a must.
  • Experience in driver recruitment, logistics recruitment, high-volume recruitment, or U.S. trucking recruitment is a must.
  • Experience managing recruiters, recruitment processes, or hiring funnels.
  • Strong understanding of candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, follow-up, and hiring conversion.
  • Ability to manage recruitment KPIs, reports, spreadsheets, and hiring dashboards.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong English communication skills required.
  • Russian and Uzbek required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet hiring deadlines.
  • Strong follow-up discipline and accountability.
  • Ability to lead a team and hold recruiters accountable for daily results.
  • Experience with U.S. trucking, CDL drivers, DOT/FMCSA requirements, MVR, PSP, Clearinghouse, or driver qualification files is a strong advantage.
  • Must be able to work full-time from the Tashkent office.
  • Must be able to work Monday to Friday from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM Uzbekistan Time.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a driver recruitment leader who understands that trucking recruitment is fast, competitive, and numbers-driven.

This person must know how to generate driver leads, control recruiter activity, improve candidate conversion, and keep the hiring pipeline moving. We need someone who can manage both strategy and daily execution.

This is not a passive HR position. The Head of Driver Recruitment must be proactive, data-driven, strict with follow-up, and comfortable holding recruiters accountable for real hiring results.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, office-based position in Tashkent.
  • Schedule: Monday – Saturday, 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM Uzbekistan Time.
  • The schedule is aligned with U.S. business hours.
  • Remote work is not available for this position.
  • Occasional extended hours may be required during urgent hiring periods.
  • Professional office environment and necessary work equipment are provided.
