Senior Legal Counsel

Responsibilities:

• Provide complex legal support for the company's brokerage business in both local and international financial markets;
• Actively participate in the development of new products and financial services;
• Take part in new launhcing new projects and development of new products (advising on legal and operational architecture, regulatory compliance matters and project’s pipeline structure discussions);
• Prepare analytics and opinions on legal and regualtory issues related to the provision of brokerage services, peculiarities of financial instruments, financial market regulations, collective investments schemes (investment and equity funds and trust management of their assets), issueance and international circulation of securities, depositary and clearing activities, etc.;
• Develop and amend the brokerage regulations and other documents of the company covering the terms and conditions of the company's services;
• Draft and negotiate the provisions of agreements and contracts with service providers (consultants, market makers, agents) and counterparties;
• Development and approval of the company's internal documents, ensuring compliance with the regulator's requirements.

Qualifications:

• Master of Laws degree (additional qualification in finance is appreciated);
• 4+ years of experience in financial instituions (brokerage firms, investment funds, banks, etc.), fintech companies, financial regulators or legal consulting (banking & finance practice) providing legal support of financial services, operations in financial markets and other business practices of financial institutions;
• Profound knowledge of regulation of financial services, financial instruments and operations in international financial markets;
• Ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-lawyer colleagues, members of management team and stakeholders;
• High level of personal responsibility and self-organization, ability to lead projects independently;
• Proficiency in English language sufficient for confident professional work (reading, editing, coordinating and drafting) with legal documentation;
• Strong negotiation and business communication skills;
• Adaptability and ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing industry and regulatory enviroment
• Results-oriented and proactive "getting things done" approach;
• Proven professional experience in interacting with financial market regulators and/or experience of working with regulations in free economic zones (such as DIFC in Dubai or AIFC in Astana) is considered as strong competitive advantage;
• Knowledge of EU, UK, US and EU regulations and international financial market and brokerage regulatory practices is highly desirable.
