Position Summary
The Director of Back-Office is responsible for leading and optimizing all business support functions within the market, including Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Administration, Learning & Development, Driver Recruitment, and Technology Operations. This role serves as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team, ensuring the organization has the people, systems, infrastructure, and operational capabilities required to achieve business growth and operational excellence.
The position combines strategic leadership, operational management, and organizational development to build scalable support functions that enable sustainable business performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Human Resources Management
- Develop and execute the market's people strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Establish, manage, and control the annual HR budget and workforce costs.
- Lead organizational design, workforce planning, and headcount management initiatives.
- Develop and implement compensation, benefits, performance management, and employee relations programs.
- Ensure effective HR policies, procedures, and systems are implemented and maintained.
- Oversee labor relations and ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
- Provide strategic HR advisory support to senior leadership on talent, productivity, and organizational effectiveness.
- Drive employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
2. Corporate Recruitment
- Lead end-to-end recruitment activities for all corporate and support-function positions.
- Develop recruitment strategies and talent pipelines to support organizational growth.
- Ensure timely fulfillment of approved manpower plans.
- Strengthen employer branding and candidate experience initiatives.
- Build partnerships with recruitment agencies, universities, and professional networks.
- Monitor and improve recruitment KPIs including Time-to-Fill, Cost-per-Hire, and Quality-of-Hire.
3. Administration & Corporate Services
- Oversee all administrative operations across the market.
- Establish and maintain an efficient document management and internal record-keeping system.
- Manage office facilities, company assets, procurement activities, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure effective workplace management and employee support services.
- Control administrative expenses and optimize resource utilization.
- Oversee logistics and operational support activities required for business continuity.
4. Learning, Development & Corporate Culture
- Develop and execute learning and development strategies for employees and drivers.
- Design onboarding, technical, leadership, and refresher training programs.
- Create and standardize training materials, operating manuals, and knowledge management systems.
- Manage training budgets and evaluate training effectiveness through measurable outcomes.
- Promote company values, leadership principles, and a high-performance culture.
- Lead employee engagement and cultural initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness and retention.
- Drive continuous improvement and capability-building programs across the organization.
5. Driver Recruitment & Supply Management
- Develop and execute driver acquisition strategies to ensure a sustainable and scalable driver supply.
- Forecast driver demand and align recruitment plans with operational growth requirements.
- Manage driver recruitment budgets and ensure cost efficiency.
- Diversify sourcing channels and implement innovative recruitment campaigns.
- Oversee the end-to-end driver onboarding process, including screening, orientation, activation, and compliance verification.
- Monitor driver supply metrics, conversion rates, productivity, and retention performance.
- Collaborate closely with Operations teams to ensure sufficient driver capacity and service readiness.
6. Technology Operations & Infrastructure
- Lead the management of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and workplace technology.
- Ensure system reliability, security, scalability, and business continuity.
- Implement and maintain information security and data protection standards.
- Oversee IT Helpdesk operations and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Manage procurement, deployment, maintenance, and lifecycle management of IT equipment and software.
- Support local implementation and adoption of technology products, platforms, and operational systems.
- Coordinate with regional and global technology teams on system enhancements and digital transformation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and technology governance standards.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Master's degree or relevant professional certifications are preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, Business Operations, Shared Services, or Corporate Functions.
- At least 3 years in a senior leadership role managing multiple business support functions.
- Experience in technology platforms, ride-hailing, logistics, e-commerce, transportation, or high-growth organizations is highly preferred.
- Proven experience managing budgets, large-scale operations, and organizational transformation initiatives.
