Investment Analyst (Oil & Gas, Metals & Mining), Deal Advisory

Are you an experienced professional with a strong background in corporate finance and a deep understanding of the Oil & Gas or Mining industry?

We are currently seeking an Investment Analyst (Oil & Gas, Mining) to join our Natural Resources team within Deal Advisory at KPMG in Astana, Almaty, or Tashkent. This is a unique opportunity to lead high-impact projects and contribute to our growing team in a dynamic, international environment.

Responsibilities:

• Project Leadership: Lead or execute Oil & Gas/Mining projects on deals, including commercial valuations (business/equity valuation) and modeling, M&A, and financing engagements.
• Scope Definition: Define the scope of workload and develop the project approach.
• Financial Modeling: Prepare and review financial models and deliverable documents (reports, business plans, information memoranda, teasers, etc.).
• Client Presentations: Prepare and deliver presentations for existing and potential clients, and participate in other department marketing events.
• Business Development: Contribute to business development initiatives, particularly proposals and pitches.
• Team Management: Guide teams on financial analysis of company’s historical results and projections, industry research, and valuation methodology application.
• Project Management: Manage project teams of 1 to 10+, including administration of internal workflow and risk management procedures, project staffing, and budget drafting.

You’re the perfect match for this role if you:

• Have 3+ years of experience in corporate finance and technical analysis within the Oil & Gas and/or Mining industry, preferably with experience in a Big 4 firm or similar.
• Hold a higher education degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or Oil & Gas Engineering.
• Demonstrate expertise in Oil & Gas market analysis and technical documentation review.
• Possess a CFA qualification (a strong plus) and have excellent knowledge of valuation methodologies and financial modeling.
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Russian.
• Are available for travel.
