ACWA Power is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead and manage all corporate tax matters across the organization. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations, optimizing the company’s tax position, and providing strategic tax advice to senior management and business units.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding, payroll, and other applicable taxes
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure full compliance
- Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities
Tax Planning & Advisory
- Develop and implement tax-efficient structures for projects, investments, and transactions
- Advise on tax implications of contracts, financing, restructurings, and cross-border activities
- Support business units with proactive tax guidance
Risk Management & Controls
- Identify and mitigate tax risks across operations and projects
- Implement and monitor internal tax controls
- Oversee transfer pricing policies and intercompany transactions
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Finance, Legal, Payroll, and Project teams
- Liaise with regulators and external advisors
- Provide internal training and guidance on tax matters
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare periodic tax reports for senior management
- Support financial reporting with accurate tax treatment and disclosures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation
- Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent) is an advantage
- 7–10 years of experience in corporate tax, preferably in energy, infrastructure, or multinational environments
- Strong knowledge of local tax laws, international taxation, and transfer pricing
- Experience with large-scale projects, cross-border transactions, and tax audits
- Fluency in English and Uzbek
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites
