Senior Lawyer or Team Lead Lawyer (Cyprus)

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Lawyer or Team Lead Lawyer who or is ready to relocate in Cyprus or already lives in Cyprus. You will be Lead and support legal projects, coordinating with internal teams, external advisors, agents, banks and law firms on corporate, financial, banking, and compliance matters. Key responsibilities will include legal support to the business, covering contracts, compliance, corporate law, IP, GDPR, KYC, and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions.

REQUIREMENTS

• Law degree from a recognized university;

• Minimum 5+ years of proven legal experience in an in-house or law firm environment;

• Industry background in Marketing, IT, Digital, or related sectors;

• Fluent English and Russian (both written and spoken) — mandatory;

• Strong knowledge of contract, corporate, and intellectual property law, as well as compliance frameworks;

• Experience working with international corporate structures and multiple jurisdictions;

• Familiarity with the EU regulatory environment (including Cyprus) will be considered a strong advantage;

• Experience in coordinating and supervising external legal counsel and service providers;

• Proficiency in legal terminology, legal research tools, databases, and document management practices;

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal matters clearly and concisely;

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving business environment and provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice;

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort with digital tools and workflows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of legal documents, with a strong focus on commercial and marketing agreements with vendors, partners, agents, and service providers;
• Provide comprehensive legal support to the business, covering contracts, compliance, corporate law, IP, GDPR, KYC, and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions;

• Lead and support legal projects, coordinating with internal teams, external advisors, agents, banks and law firms on corporate, financial, banking, and compliance matters;

• Oversee corporate compliance frameworks, including group structuring, KYC, AML, and GDPR requirements;

• Identify, assess, and manage legal risks, and develop internal legal and compliance policies, guidelines, and procedures;

• Provide legal support for financial and operational activities, including tax and regulatory matters;

• Act as a trusted legal advisor to senior management, advising on legal aspects of transactions, investments, employment matters, international contracts, and migration-related issues;

• Select, instruct, and supervise external legal counsel, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and alignment with business objectives;

• Build, manage, and further develop the legal function, including in-house legal professionals and external partners;

• Support ad-hoc initiatives such as licensing, corporate structuring, due diligence, and other legal or compliance projects.
