Development lead

We are looking for Development leads for remote work.

Our client is a European fintech product developer with its HQ in Amsterdam.

It’s a digital bank, a high-load B2B solution that integrates banking functions, accounting, taxes and financial management for IEs and small/medium-sized businesses across Europe.
It was founded in 2019. The company has expanded its reach across 10+ EU countries.

Over the past two years, the company has fuelled exponential growth, securing $105 million in investments and propelling us into hyper-growth mode.

Besides HQ, engineering hubs are in Serbia, Poland, Portugal, Armenia, Georgia and Cyprus.

Currently, 600 employees are based in various countries.

About the role

The company has more than 10 domains, with several teams in each of them.

We are seeking 2 professional leads for 2 domains:

— Banking domain and a SWIFT team (as it’s one of the core teams, so it's amazing if you have a background in fintech and payments for this role);

— Growth domain and a team related to development features for marketing purposes (it’s a quite new domain, so you will have an opportunity to join the guys almost from the beginning and influence products development pretty much).

The primary responsibility is managing a cross-functional team up to 7 people (backend, frontend, mobile developers, and QA engineers).

The work involves close collaboration with the Product Manager on sprint planning and task prioritization.

Your future tasks

Organizational Leadership

• Lead and manage the cross-functional team (7 members, including backend developers, frontend developers, mobile developers, and testers.)

• Align with the product owner on task timelines, priorities, technical debt, improvements, and alerts.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to ensure alignment and address any issues.

• Lead the onboarding phase for new hires, explaining the product components and facilitating their integration into the team.

• Distribute equity options among team members.

• Collaborate with the product lead to conduct performance reviews.

• Drive the development of both technical and soft skills within the team.

• Represent the team at architectural committee meetings and ensure adherence to the decisions made.

Technical Leadership

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all task/alert/bug flows related to the project.

• Set tasks for the product, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.

• Coordinate with other product team leads to align on interaction mechanisms (e.g., API, message buses) for cross-product initiatives.

• Write and maintain up-to-date product documentation, essential for onboarding new team members. Regularly allocate time for documentation or delegate it within the team.

• Act as the code owner in team repositories, overseeing code quality and allocating time for refactoring when necessary.

• Oversee and synchronize development efforts across backend, frontend, mobile, and QA teams to ensure efficient task execution.

• Ensure tasks aligned with the product lead’s objectives are completed on time and within scope.

• Backend: C#, .NET Core 8

• Frontend: React.js, Next.js, TupeScript

• Mobile: Kotlin, Swift

• Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis

• Cloud: AWS, Google Cloud (primarily Google)

• Message Queues: RabbitMQ, Kafka

• DevOps: Kubernetes, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana

We expect from you

• Managerial background as a team lead or engineering manager with cross-functional teams (developers, QAs etc).

• Previous experience in Senior developer roles (preferably in C#).

• A background in development services for external customers in product companies is a must.

• Experience with short release cycles (not less frequently than every 2 weeks).

• Skills in system design, deep understanding of microservice architecture principles.

• Product mindset, team player and strong leadership skills.

• English language at B2+ level (all internal communications are in English).

• Your time zone and location (GMT to GMT+5, except Russia and Belarus).
