We are currently looking for a Regional Engineering Manager for our Tashkent office. You’ll be responsible for management of the local engineering team as part of the international distributed company team.
The Regional Engineering Manager reports to the DSR President and DSR VPE.
Responsibilities
- Arrangement of everyday team work, tasks and action items distribution and control
- Ensure the engineering team upholds company culture and adheres to policies and procedures
- Assignment of people to key positions
- Reporting on engineering activities, performance, and availability to supervisors
- Coordinate staff performance reviews, participate in evaluations, and provide final approvals
- Coordinate and implement the staff development process within the engineering team
- Organize staff mentorship
- Mentor project managers and team leads
- Organization of communication with other departments: administrative, PR, HR, engineering department managers, VPEs of other offices
- Monitor the team motivation level and help project managers to work on its improvement
- Definition of needs and organization of trainings, approval of external training attendance
- Facilitate structured and efficient internal communication among team members
- Work on team building activities together with the PR team
- In collaboration with HR coordinate and participate in the recruitment and onboarding processes
- Define the recruitment plans together with company department managers
- Oversee the project staff assignment process working closely with resource managers
- Participate in the company-level engineering process definition and mediation
- Represent the office in communication with authorities and partners (IT park, universities, government)
- Build and maintain a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and quality
- Help resolve any internal conflicts, performance issues, or other challenges that may arise during daily operations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 3 years in management, senior leadership or executive-level position in international SW development companies
- Proven track record of scaling engineering teams and delivering high-quality software or products
- A solid understanding of globally recognized engineering and project management practices
- Strong leadership and people management skills with a focus on mentoring, team building, and fostering a high-performance culture
- Experience of working in a multi-cultural international company
- Fluent English and Russian are required; proficiency in Uzbek is a plus
