We are currently seeking a Fleet Specialist who can ensure operational readiness, provide real-time technical support to drivers, and keep our trucks running smoothly and cost-effectively — all while sitting at the nerve center of our fleet management operation.

Position Overview:

The Fleet Specialist will oversee the performance and serviceability of a large-scale fleet of dry van trucks. This position plays a critical role in reducing downtime by remotely diagnosing mechanical issues and coordinating timely, cost-effective repairs — all while maintaining compliance, safety, and data accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage the health, usage, and availability of over 400 dry van trucks

• Provide remote mechanical support to drivers (via phone) for issues such as fault codes, regen cycles, derates, tire/blowouts, etc.

• Use telematics platforms (e.g., Samsara, ELD) to identify and resolve engine, DEF, and transmission issues in real-time

• Coordinate on-site and remote mobile repair vendors across multiple states

• Create and manage preventative maintenance schedules

• Maintain real-time records of repairs, costs, and downtime metrics

• Collaborate with safety and dispatch teams to reduce mechanical incidents

• Ensure full compliance with FMCSA/DOT and internal safety standards

• Track and analyze idling trends; offer improvement suggestions

• Manage warranty repairs, service bulletins, and recall coordination

Required Qualifications:

• min 1 year of experience in fleet operations or maintenance coordination

• Solid understanding of Class 8 truck mechanics (Freightliner, Volvo, etc.)

• Ability to read and interpret fault codes, ELD data, and telematics reports

• Strong communication skills to guide drivers step-by-step during roadside troubleshooting

• Familiarity with repair networks, towing services, and mobile mechanics

• Working knowledge of FMCSA/DOT compliance requirements

• Highly organized, responsive, and able to multitask in high-pressure environments
