Skoltech Center for Energy Science and Technology (CEST) is seeking for a Research Scientist (full-time) to join the STRIP Development of electro motorbikes assisted with supercapacitors project.
The project deals with power converters for electromobility. The candidate will work in the laboratory and collaborate with the engineering team. The key responsibility is the development of new control algorithms for power converters in electromobility. This includes DC-DC converters and inverters.
Responsibilities:
- Development of power converter control using an advanced microcontroller. Particularly, for a multiple active bridge converter. The control technique must consider the different energy sources in the project: batteries, supercapacitors and motor drive as well. It should also be focused on the application, for example for extending the battery lifetime or maximizing the power output of the vehicle;
- Converter hardware design. As the efficiency should be maximized, the converter hardware should be redesigned;
- Write papers/patents explaining the new control techniques;
- Participate in project proposals writing for the extension of the research.
Requirements:
- Minimum master'ser degree or above in electric/ mechanical/ electronic or similar;
- Preferable PhD level or Candidate of Science;
- Experience in writing papers and research proposals RSF and others;
- Experience in working in simulations for electronics;
- Laboratory experience;
- Skills in C programming using development boards such as STM, Texas or others;
- Skills for computer programming such as Python, Visual C or similar for creating human-machine-interface;
- Control theory and math knowledge are mandatory;
- Skills in electronic simulators such as PLECS or similar;
- English – enough to have a technical conversation with colleagues and clients and to write scientific papers.
