We are looking for an editor to help us launch the English-language version of Electrobiopunk — an Instagram channel about modern biology, biotechnology, longevity, and science, presented with humor.

Your main task will be to translate and adapt our Russian-language Reels for an English-speaking audience.

We are not looking for word-for-word translation. The English version should feel natural, funny, and culturally relevant — as if the content was originally created in English.

What you’ll do

• Translate and adapt Russian Reels and scripts into English
• Edit texts so they sound natural to a US / English-speaking audience
• Preserve the meaning, tone, and humor of the original content
• Adapt jokes, memes, slang, wordplay, and cultural references that don’t work in English
• Come up with new jokes or references when a direct adaptation isn’t possible
• Make sure scripts sound natural when spoken on camera

What we’re looking for

• Native or near-native English (C2)
• Fluent Russian — you need to understand the original content, including humor, irony, slang, and cultural references
• Strong understanding of American culture and English-language internet culture
• You regularly consume English-language social media and understand current memes, trends, slang, and online humor
• Strong writing and editing skills in English
• A good sense of humor and the ability to create and adapt jokes, not just translate them
• Experience in editing, copywriting, social media, media, or content creation

- Knowledge of biology, biotechnology, medicine, or other life sciences will be an advantage, but is not required.

- Experience living, studying, or working in the US or another English-speaking country will also be a strong advantage.
