About the role
The SMM Manager is a key member of Innotech's marketing and growth team. You will own the university's social media presence - building engaged communities across platforms, creating content that brings the InnoTech brand to life, and driving awareness and leads among prospective students and their families.
This is an opportunity to build a brand's social media presence from the ground up at a new, dynamic, fast-growing university.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the social media strategy and content plan across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others relevant to the target audience), aligned with the overall brand and marketing strategy.
- Create and publish engaging content — posts, stories, reels, short-form video — that supports student recruitment, brand-building, and student satisfaction.
- Manage day-to-day community activity: respond to comments and direct messages, moderate discussions, and engage with followers in the brand's voice.
- Plan and run paid social media campaigns to support lead generation, working closely with the wider marketing and student recruitment team.
- Track and report on social media performance through dashboards and analytics tools, using data to continually optimize content and campaigns.
- Maintain and update the content calendar, coordinating with design, video, and other resources as needed.
- Promote university events (open days, webinars, school and employer partnership events) through social channels.
- Monitor social media trends, platform changes, and best practices, and bring fresh ideas to keep InnoTech's presence current and distinctive.
- Ensure all content adheres to the Innotech brand strategy and identity.
- Collaborate with the broader marketing and growth team to align social media activity with website content and campaign goals.
Requirements
- 2–4+ years of hands-on experience managing social media for a brand or company, ideally in a consumer-facing, education, retail, or similar industry.
- Practical experience with paid social media advertising (e.g., Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads) and social media analytics tools.
- Strong content creation skills: copywriting, and basic photo/video editing (e.g., Canva, CapCut, or similar).
- Solid understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and current trends.
- Data-driven mindset, comfortable working with reporting dashboards and adjusting content based on performance.
- Creative, proactive, and able to work independently on a content calendar.
- Degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Experience in the education sector is a plus but not required.
