Role Purpose
The Business Development Manager is responsible for independently managing and progressing complex business development projects across the company’s growth portfolio. The role involves identifying and evaluating opportunities, preparing investment and strategic analyses, coordinating cross‑functional inputs, and supporting management decision‑making on capital‑intensive and strategically important initiatives.
The position requires a high degree of autonomy, strong analytical capability, and the ability to work across technical, financial, legal, and commercial topics.
Key Responsibilities
Project Evaluation & Development
- Identify, assess, and progress organic growth, infrastructure, and integration opportunities.
- Prepare investment cases, option analyses, and high‑level feasibility assessments.
- Evaluate projects against strategic fit, value creation, risk profile, and implementation complexity.
Financial & Commercial Analysis
- Develop and review financial models, including NPV, IRR, breakeven, sensitivity, and scenario analysis.
- Assess key commercial assumptions.
- Ensure consistency and robustness of assumptions across different analytical approaches.
Risk Analysis
- Identify and structure key project risks across technical, commercial, regulatory, and financial dimensions.
- Support the development of mitigation strategies and downside scenarios.
- Clearly reflect risks in economic and strategic assessments.
Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Coordinate inputs from technical, finance, legal, and other internal teams.
- Interact with external counterparties, advisors, and partners as required.
- Support management in negotiations and discussions by preparing structured analytical materials.
Management Communication
- Prepare clear, well‑structured materials to support management reviews and decision‑making.
- Summarize complex analyses into concise, fact‑based conclusions and recommendations.
Experience & Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in business development, strategy, M&A, valuation, or investment analysis.
- Strong background in financial modeling and valuation of capital‑intensive projects.
- Experience supporting M&A transactions, joint ventures, or strategic partnerships.
- Proven ability to independently manage complex analytical and project workstreams.
- Experience applying AI tools and automation to workflows, including analysis, scenario evaluation, risk structuring, and synthesis of large information sets.
- Demonstrated ability to use digital and AI‑enabled tools to improve the speed, consistency, and quality of analytical outputs.
- Clear understanding of responsible AI use, including appropriate validation, accuracy, and confidentiality in professional settings.
