Senior ESG Consultant, Consulting (Almaty/Astana)

We’re currently seeking a Senior Consultant to join our ESG & Sustainability team at KPMG in Almaty/Astana. In this role, you’ll provide advisory services to major corporations across the Central Asia and Caucasus region, leading project streams in climate risk management, governance, greenhouse gas management, sustainable finance, and sustainability performance improvement. You’ll work directly with senior stakeholders, mentor junior team members, and help clients enhance their ESG impact and resilience.

As a Senior Consultant, you will:

• Lead ESG advisory project segments, including sustainability strategy, impact analysis, and non-financial reporting (IFRS S1/S2, SASB,GRI ESRS).

• Guide clients in climate risk management, greenhouse gas reduction, and resilience planning.

• Support sustainable finance initiatives, integrating ESG factors into corporate financing.

• Optimize corporate governance and sustainability reporting frameworks.

• Mentor junior team members and collaborate with senior stakeholders

You’re a great fit if you:

• Have 3+ years in management consulting (preferably with Big 4,Tier 2, Big 3 firms) or 5+ years of relevant indusrty experience (Energy, Manufacturing, Financial Services, Government)

• Strong knowledge of sustainability standards and methodologies (GRI, IFRS S1/S2, SASB, ESRS).

• Relevant experience in climate and ESG risk management and greenhouse gas management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large and complex datasets.
• Desired experience in sustainable finance projects.
• Solid understanding of corporate governance and sustainability reporting frameworks.
• Are fluent in English (Upper Intermediate or above), with proficiency in Russian and Kazakh.
