About Upside Analytics
Upside Analytics is a finance-focused business intelligence and data analytics consultancy. We build institutional-grade BI, data engineering, and reporting solutions for sophisticated financial institutions and professional-services firms across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Our delivery engine is based in Almaty; our clients are global.
We are at an inflection point — building out our own brand and scaling from a founder-led practice into a global firm — and this role sits at the centre of that transition.
You would be one of our earliest commercial hires, working directly with the founder (a CFA charterholder and former Credit Suisse analyst with a deep finance and risk background) to build the engine that brings new clients to Upside.
The Role in One Line
You generate and qualify demand; our founder and senior team lead the closing conversations.
This is a build-and-orchestrate role, not a cold-calling or deal-closing role. You will own the top of our funnel — finding the right organisations, opening conversations through smart written outreach and content, and booking high-quality meetings for our senior people to close. If you are excellent at research, systematic outreach, and persuasive written communication, and you want to learn a sophisticated domain rather than just sell a commodity, this is built for you.
Reports to: Founder & CEO
Location: Almaty (on-site / hybrid)
Markets: Primary focus on Singapore, Australia, the UK, and Europe, with the US served asynchronously.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain our target lists (ICP). Identify the right financial institutions and the right risk, finance, and data functions to approach across our target markets.
- Run multichannel outbound. Execute email and LinkedIn outreach sequences using positioning and messaging authored with the founder. Personalise at quality, not just volume — our buyers are senior and sophisticated.
- Power our content engine. Repurpose and distribute thought-leadership content, and support the founder's LinkedIn presence so our credibility compounds over time.
- Own the CRM and pipeline. Keep records clean, track every opportunity, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Book and prepare meetings. Schedule qualified meetings into the founder's and partner's calendars and prepare a short brief for each one.
- Measure and iterate. Report on funnel metrics (meetings booked, qualified opportunities, reply and conversion rates) and continuously refine messaging based on what's working.
Who You Are
- Excellent written English (C1+). You write clearly, professionally, and persuasively. This matters more than spoken accent — most of your outreach is written.
- 2+ years in B2B sales development, lead generation, outbound, or growth marketing, ideally targeting Western or international markets.
- A systematic researcher. You enjoy building target lists, finding the right person, and crafting a relevant reason to reach out.
- Organised and metrics-driven. You manage a pipeline, hit activity targets, and treat your numbers as a feedback loop.
- Self-directed and comfortable across time zones. Our markets span APAC mornings to UK/EU afternoons (Almaty time), so flexible working hours and autonomy are part of the role.
- Genuinely curious. You want to understand finance, risk, and data analytics deeply enough to have a credible conversation — not just send templates.
Nice to Have
These are not required — we will train the right person — but they will move your application to the top of the pile:
- Familiarity with our tool stack: LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Clay, Smartlead or Instantly, HeyReach, and a CRM such as HubSpot. (We use a modern, AI-assisted outbound stack — experience with any part of it is a plus.)
- Domain knowledge base: exposure to financial services, risk, banking, data/BI, Power BI, or professional-services/consulting sales.
- Experience selling to or within the UK, Europe, Singapore, or Australia.
- Content or copywriting / social-selling experience.
- Additional languages (helpful, not required).
