Senior accountant

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP;
• Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions, including revenue recognition, accruals, and intercompany reconciliations;
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing actionable insights to management;
• Full tax management and compliance: preparation and timely submission of all tax returns (870.00, 101.02, 300.00, etc.);
• Manage Electronic Invoices (ЭСФ): control issuance deadlines, reconciliations with SAP, issuance for LID and non-residents;
• Handle residency certificates: maintain registers, prepare documents for tax authorities;
• Interact with tax authorities: respond to notifications, requests, and prepare for tax audits;
• Perform reconciliations with KNP, personal accounts (ЛС), customs declarations (ГТД);
• Execute SAP postings related to taxes, payroll, bank commissions, FX revaluation, dividends, etc.;
• Participate in transfer pricing activities (profitability data preparation, reporting);
• Prepare and submit reports to the National Bank of Kazakhstan (4 quarterly reports);
• Support internal and external financial and tax audits;
• Perform SAP reconciliations (FI-CO, VAT on intra-group transactions, etc.);
• Drive process optimization and automation within accounting and tax workflows;
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and tax;
• In-depth knowledge of Kazakhstan tax legislation;
• Strong proficiency in SAP (mandatory);
• Advanced Excel skills (formulas, macros, Power Query, pivot tables, data visualization);
• Solid understanding of IFRS;
• Proven experience with ЭСФ, KNP, and transfer pricing;
• Upper-Intermediate English (B2+).

Will be a plus:

• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent);
• Experience in FMCG, retail, or multinational companies.
