We are seeking a Senior Manager (Mining) to play a key role in the operational development and execution of the Junior Mining Platform. This position focuses on building and managing a pipeline of mining projects, including sourcing, screening, and onboarding projects into the platform repository, as well as engaging with investors and stakeholders to facilitate investment flows into Kazakhstan’s mining sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the successful implementation of the Junior Mining Platform, facilitating connections between mining projects and investors
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of mining projects, including managing and updating the project repository
- Attract and onboard project companies (junior mining companies, license holders) to the platform
- Conduct initial screening and assessment of projects against platform criteria
- Engage with project participants to collect, verify, and maintain up-to-date information
- Assist in organizing and delivering investment events and platform-related activities
- Collaborate with government bodies, investors, and other stakeholders to advance the initiative
- Prepare analytical reports, presentations, and investment materials for internal and external audiences
- Contribute to continuous improvement of platform processes, tools, and market engagement strategies
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or a related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in the mining or natural resources sector
- Strong understanding of the mining project lifecycle (exploration to development) and key documentation
- Proven project management and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English, Russian, and Kazakh
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a dynamic environment with high integrity and self-motivation
