Financial Controller with Chief Accountant functions

We are looking for a Financial Controller/Chief Accountant in an international company in Almaty.

Responsibilities:

• Full responsibility for financial accounting and bookkeeping (GL, AP, AR, bank, fixed assets, accruals).
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing in accordance with local GAAP and Group policies (IFRS).
• Prepare statutory financial statements and tax reports.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations (VAT, CIT, etc.) and coordinate with external advisors and auditors.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages for Group headquarters and provide explanations of key variances.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain proper supporting documentation.
• Support liquidity planning and cash flow monitoring.
• Maintain and improve internal accounting processes and controls.
• Act as the main point of contact for auditors, tax authorities, and Group Finance.
• Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process in cooperation with the Managing Director and Group Controlling.

• Higher education in Accounting, Finance, or Economics;

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting and tax reporting in Kazakhstan;

• Strong knowledge of local GAAP and tax regulations; basic knowledge of IFRS.

• Advanced level of English.

• Experience in the retail or consumer goods industry is considered an advantage.
