Mechanical Engineer

• Assist and advise the Project Manager to ensure that all mechanical works, HVAC, plumbing and sanitary works meet the technical pre-requisites of the project;
• Ensure only AFC documentation/drawings are used in the construction activities and copies of welders qualifications, qualified weld procedure record are maintained at each respective work front;
• Make sure that any activity offered for his inspection has an approved shop drawing, method statement (MS), Quality Control Procedure (QCP) and Inspection & Test Plan (ITP);
• Responsible to monitor the works and ensure adequate supervision of the Contractors mechanical activities;
• Responsible for supervision of mechanical activities; Work in conjunction with the contractors QC inspector and the third party inspector to ensure quality of work;
• Submit daily, weekly, monthly field reports of all mechanical activities to the Project Manager; Advise Project Manager of any mechanical related issues that could, if not corrected, lead to a reduction in safety, quality, environment and where potential delays in progress could occur;
• Monitor the Contractors mechanical activities . Ensure compliance to project documents / drawings in conjunction with other BV personnel. Complies with Bureau Veritas Corporate standards and BV 3 Absolutes (Safety, Ethics, Financial Control).

Requirements:

Education:

University degree – Mechanical Site Inspecting/Construction.

English in advanced level.

Qualification/Certification:

Specific knowledge of construction industry.

Experience:

2+ years in mechanical engineering experience in Construction.

Required competencies:

Have effective time management and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

Be team-oriented, flexible and able to work with minimal day-to-day supervision. English – upper-intermediate.

Computer skills, skills of working with data bases;

skills of preparing and processing documents.
