AIFC Authority is seeking an experienced legal professional to serve as Director of Legal Support Department on a maternity cover basis. The role oversees legal operations across AIFCA and its subsidiaries, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and effective support to senior leadership.
The Director provides strategic guidance, leads the Department, and ensures the delivery of high‑quality legal services in alignment with organisational goals, policies, and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support to AIFCA, including review of internal documents, policies, agreements, and corporate decisions.
- Lead and manage the Legal Support Department, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy.
- Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, workflows, and performance KPIs.
- Oversee workload allocation, HR discipline, attendance, and performance of departmental staff.
- Ensure efficient internal processes, documentation standards, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Manage departmental budgeting and monitor execution of financial plans.
- Provide legal review and advisory to the AIFC Governor’s Office on Orders, contracts, and other matters.
- Coordinate delivery of legal services to AIFCA subsidiaries under service level agreements.
- Advise senior management and internal departments on regulatory compliance and corporate matters.
- Oversee development, review, and implementation of organisational policies and legal documentation.
- Identify and implement improvements to legal processes, workflows, and departmental efficiency.
- Maintain effective relationships with regulators, state authorities, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Lead staff development through performance reviews, coaching, and training initiatives.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior leadership on legal and departmental matters.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (Jurisprudence preferred). Master’s degree (LLM or MBA) is an advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of legal experience (law firm, Big4, or state/quasi‑state preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of managerial experience (preferred).
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Advanced analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- High integrity and professional ethics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Fluency in Kazakh, Russian, and English.
