Environmental Specialist / Coordinator

Juru is looking for an Environmental Specialist / Coordinator with a desire to work in the energy and infrastructure sectors to join our Environmental team of the Sustainability Business Unit (SBU) in our Tashkent office, Uzbekistan. You will be part of the fast-growing, positive and goal-oriented team that supports Juru in delivering consultancy services related to Environmental and Social impact assessment, environmental monitoring and due diligence across some of the most high-profile energy and infrastructure projects in the region.

Key responsibilities:

• Coordinate a team during ESIA and national EIA developments;
• Conduct stakeholder consultations for ongoing/planned projects;
• Coordinate the associated experts, i.e., prepare agreements, follow up on tasks, prepare invoices, etc;
• Communicate with Clients: constantly reporting updates of the projects, monitor the compliance with task deadlines etc;
• Provide guidance and interpretation of relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to environmental/biodiversity and management for experts;
• Arrange and conduct baseline studies if needed;
• Stay up to date with local and international environmental and social regulations;
• Assist with ad-hoc duties of the Environmental team, as required.

Key requirements:

• A degree in ecology, chemistry, biology environmental science/engineering or similar;
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental sector;
• Participation in environmental surveys and assessments;
• Experience working on Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) or national Environment impact assessment (EIA) projects is considered a valuable asset;
• Knowledge of national EIA and international ESIA (IFC, ADB, EBRD policies) regulatory requirements is an asset;
• Excellent command of English, Russian, and Uzbek is an asset;
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with stakeholders and work collaboratively with project teams;
• Excellent report writing & technical reviewing skills;
• Familiarity with relevant software and tools, such as ArcGIS, Google Earh, Q-GIS is an asset;
• Readiness for trips within Uzbekistan and CIS countries (20% of time);
• Ability to withstand high pressure and deliver results;
• Ability to communicate in a clear manner.
