Tech Lead → Head of Engineering (AI-Native | Fintech | UAE)

Are you an experienced engineer passionate about building scalable fintech products and working in an AI-first development environment? Yusr Tech, a fast-growing B2B2C fintech platform in the UAE, is looking for a Tech Lead who will grow into Head of Engineering to take ownership of technical delivery and build our engineering function from the ground up.
We provide 0% interest installment financing for essential services, including auto repair, dental, beauty, veterinary care, and education. Our platform is rapidly scaling: from 500 → 5,000+ monthly transactions, and our merchant network is growing from 100 → 1,000+ partners. UAE Central Bank licensing is in progress.

What You’ll Be Doing (Phase 1 – Tech Lead)
• Build backend services, integrations, APIs, and features using AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, etc.)
• Audit and evolve the current Bubble + Supabase architecture
• Set up CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and deployment processes
• Ensure system reliability, data protection, and regulatory readiness

• Manage the existing team (2 Bubble developers + QA)

What You’ll Be Doing (Phase 2 – Head of Engineering)
• Build and lead the engineering team as the company scales
• Define architecture, technical strategy, and stack decisions
• Manage engineering delivery, KPIs, and team performance
• Mentor developers and drive a culture of ownership and accountability

What We’re Looking For
• 5–8 years of backend development experience (Python, Node.js, Ruby)
• Fintech experience, including familiarity with credit lifecycle, compliance, AML, KYC, or payments systems
• Full-stack capability: able to deliver a product from concept to production
• AI-native development mindset: practical experience using AI-assisted development tools as a primary workflow
• Ownership mindset: ability to independently drive technical decisions and execute projects from start to finish

Bonus Points for
• Experience migrating from no-code/legacy platforms to custom stacks
• Experience managing or mentoring developers
• Russian language proficiency (for internal team communication)
