We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to provide comprehensive accounting support within a dynamic logistics and freight forwarding environment. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial recording, effective payables management, full compliance with Kazakhstan tax and labor legislation, and smooth coordination between operational and finance teams.
This position plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting statutory reporting, and ensuring timely month-end and regulatory processes.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Billing
Accurately record supplier invoices in accordance with internal policies and SOPs.
Perform regular vendor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Communicate with suppliers regarding outstanding balances and payment clarifications.
Monitor payable balances and initiate follow-up actions when required.
Support monthly job closing procedures and assist in month-end reporting activities.
Issue and verify electronic documentation via the relevant state portals within required deadlines.
Execute additional tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager, Team Lead, or Management.
General Ledger & Bookkeeping
Maintain accurate general and subsidiary ledger accounts.
Record financial transactions including invoices, payments, accruals, adjustments, and journal entries.
Conduct periodic reconciliations to ensure correctness and completeness of financial data.
Ensure compliance of accounting records with company policies and Kazakhstan regulatory standards.
Support preparation of internal financial reports and documentation.
Taxation & Labor Law Compliance (Kazakhstan)
Calculate and process payroll taxes, employee-related deductions, and social contributions in accordance with local legislation.
Ensure compliance with Kazakhstan Labor Law requirements (employment documentation, leave records, reporting obligations).
Prepare and submit statutory tax reports, including VAT, corporate income tax, and other mandatory filings (quarterly and annual).
Monitor legislative changes in taxation and labor law and implement necessary updates in company processes.
Provide internal guidance on regulatory and tax-related matters affecting operations.
Internal & External Coordination
Ensure timely sharing of critical financial information within the department.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, and other internal teams.
Maintain professional communication with customers and vendors regarding billing, payments, and financial clarifications.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Kazakhstan Labor Law and employee taxation regulations.
Solid understanding of VAT, corporate income tax, and statutory reporting requirements.
Familiarity with commercial contracts and financial terms.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Experience with month-end closing and financial reporting processes.
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (mandatory).
Professional Accountant of the Republic of Kazakhstan (preferred).
Certified Management Accountant (CMA) – desirable.
ACCA (completed or in progress) – desirable.
