Responsibilities

• Translate business problems into data science and generative AI solutions, guiding workflows through exploration, PoC, MVP, and production phases

• Evaluate, select, and fine-tune LLMs or other generative AI models for specific use cases, leveraging both API-based and open-source options

• Design robust data pipelines tailored to text normalization, tokenization, and document structuring for generative AI and NLP tasks

• Develop effective prompts for generative systems, ensuring optimized outputs via zero-shot, few-shot, and chain-of-thought techniques

• Architect retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, multi-model systems, and agent-based workflows to handle complex business needs

• Create modular evaluation frameworks utilizing metrics tailored to accuracy, latency, cost, user relevance, and groundedness of generated AI outputs

• Work alongside engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to integrate generative AI into scalable applications across industries

• Implement cost and performance optimizations, deploy generative AI systems (cloud-native or on-premises), and ensure real-world reliability

• Incorporate explainability, ethical principles, and privacy considerations into generative AI solutions while maintaining compliance with relevant EULAs

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data science roles with end-to-end project ownership and knowledge of CRISP-DM methodologies

• Understanding of LLMs, generative APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face), and open-source generative AI tools paired with RAG pipelines architecture expertise

• Practical knowledge of classical NLP techniques and familiarity with embedding generation, search techniques, and contrasting generative AI vs traditional NLP solutions

• Proficiency in Python with hands-on experience using libraries like Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, PyTorch/TensorFlow, NumPy, and pandas

• Capability to develop interactive demos (Streamlit, Gradio) alongside backend solutions (FastAPI, Flask)

• Competency in deploying models using vector databases (FAISS, Qdrant, Chroma), monitoring tools, containers (Docker), and MLOps frameworks (MLflow)

• Understanding of LLM risks mitigation strategies, ensuring safer operations and reliability in real-world applications

• Strong ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders and distill complex AI concepts into actionable insights

• Adaptability to keep pace with the rapidly evolving generative AI technologies landscape

• Collaborative mindset to work alongside diverse teams and onboard others into generative AI workflows

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with cloud AI platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or Google Vertex AI)

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps for seamless AI model integration and updates

• Familiarity with advanced techniques like latency reduction (e.g., quantization, knowledge distillation) and RLHF workflows

• Expertise in facilitating human evaluation workflows, including annotation pipelines or LLM-assisted assessments in functional deployments

• Proven ability to guide teams and enterprise clients in adopting generative AI technologies for business transformation
