Senior AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Translate complex business challenges into generative AI solutions, steering workflows through phases like PoC, MVP, and production readiness
• Design and build robust pipelines for data processing, including tokenization, text normalization, and document structuring tailored to generative AI systems
• Select and fine-tune large language models or other generative AI models, leveraging APIs, open-source tools, and tailored methodologies for specific use cases
• Develop compelling RAG pipelines, agent-centric workflows, and multi-model systems that address intricate business requirements
• Craft effective prompt engineering strategies with techniques such as zero-shot, few-shot, and chain-of-thought prompting for reliable outputs
• Create modular evaluation frameworks for AI solutions, including metrics focused on accuracy, latency, groundedness, and cost-efficiency
• Integrate generative AI into scalable production systems in collaboration with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders
• Optimize trade-offs between cost, performance, and scalability for AI systems deployed in cloud-native or on-premises environments
• Ensure compliance with ethical AI guidelines by incorporating explainability, security, and privacy practices into solutions
• Educate cross-functional teams and clients on leveraging generative AI to maximize business impact

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data science roles with end-to-end delivery of machine learning solutions, knowledge of CRISP-DM workflow, and distinctions between data science and software engineering approaches
• Proficiency in Python and frameworks/libraries including NumPy, pandas, PyTorch or TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, and LangChain
• Understanding of generative AI concepts with hands-on experience in LLMs, RAG pipelines, and relevant APIs for services like Azure OpenAI or AWS Bedrock
• Practical knowledge of NLP techniques and decision-making to determine when to use classical or generative AI methods
• Demonstrated success in backend application development using tools such as FastAPI or Flask and interactive demo creation with Streamlit or Gradio
• Background in deploying AI models using Docker, MLflow, and integrating vector databases such as Qdrant, FAISS, or Chroma into workflows
• Familiarity with LLM-specific security risks like prompt injection and knowledge of appropriate mitigation strategies
• Clear communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences
• Proactivity in continuous learning to stay ahead in the fast-evolving generative AI landscape
• Collaborative mindset with strong ability to guide and inspire cross-functional teams

Nice to have

• Familiarity with advanced methods like RLHF, multi-modal AI, or fine-tuning on large datasets
• Experience applying techniques such as knowledge distillation or quantization for latency optimization
• Background in human evaluation processes, including annotation workflows or integrating LLMs as evaluators
• Competency in onboarding enterprise clients onto generative AI platforms and systems
