Technical Writer

Mercury Development is looking for a Technical Writer to join our team and create high-quality English-language documentation that describes system behavior and implementation details

The role of a Technical Writer at Mercury Development is to deeply understand system functionality and produce clear, structured, and comprehensive documentation for technical teams and other project stakeholders.

• Create, maintain, and update technical and user documentation describing system behavior and implementation details
• Review, edit, and prepare for publication documents produced by technical specialists
• Collaborate with the team to gather information required for documentation.

• Excellent written and spoken English
• 3+ years of professional experience working with texts (technical writing, translation, editing, copywriting, proofreading, or similar roles)
• Ability to quickly understand the project domain at the level sufficient to complete assigned tasks
• Solid understanding of document structure and information architecture and the ability to structure and present information in a clear, logical, and user-friendly way
• Ability to independently maintain a consistently high standard of documentation quality
• Confident use of documentation and text-editing tools (MS Word, Google Docs, or similar)
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong analytical skills.

• Understanding of mobile (iOS, Android) and web application specifics;
• Experience in software development projects as a technical writer or business analyst
• Knowledge of technical documentation standards and/or experience working with style guides
• Experience with documentation platforms such as Confluence, MadCap Flare, or similar tools
• Experience working with knowledge bases and wiki-style systems;
• Experience with graphic or video editing tools.
