Project: 500 MW Solar PV + BESS Plant
Role: PMC – Site Civil Engineer
Reports to: PMC Site Manager
1. General Responsibilities
Supervise and monitor all mechanical installation, assembly, and commissioning works performed by the EPC Contractor.
Ensure all mechanical systems and components are executed in compliance with IFC drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
Act as PMC’s discipline representative for mechanical engineering at site.
Provide technical supervision, ensure timely progress, and support resolution of field engineering issues.
Maintain close coordination with civil, electrical, and BESS teams for interface management.
2. Pre-Construction & Planning
Review and approve method statements, ITPs, and risk assessments for all mechanical activities.
Verify equipment layout, foundation drawings, and mechanical installation plans.
Ensure all tools, lifting gear, and construction equipment are properly certified and calibrated.
Confirm EPC contractor readiness before commencement of major mechanical works.
3. Mechanical Systems Scope Supervision
Oversee installation and alignment of inverter skids, transformers, BESS enclosures, HVAC systems, pumps, and piping systems.
Supervise mechanical balance of plant (BoP) works including water supply, drainage, firefighting, and compressed air systems.
Monitor module mounting structure assembly for compliance with design tolerances and torque settings.
Verify installation of battery racks, cooling systems, and fire suppression systems for BESS units.
Ensure earthing, supports, anchors, and insulation works meet design and safety standards.
4. Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)
Implement PMC’s Quality Management Plan for mechanical discipline.
Review and witness inspection and test activities per approved ITPs.
Verify material certificates, MIRs, and FAT/SAT documentation.
Inspect welding, bolting, pipe fit-up, leak testing, and pressure testing where applicable.
Ensure use of approved materials, correct torque tools, and proper installation procedures.
Maintain and track NCRs, punch lists, and corrective actions to closure.
5. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
Enforce compliance with HSE standards and the site-specific safety plan.
Ensure all mechanical lifting, rigging, and pressure system works are carried out safely.
Review and verify lifting plans and critical lifting operations.
Participate in daily toolbox talks and weekly HSE inspections.
Immediately report unsafe acts, equipment defects, or environmental violations.
6. Progress Monitoring & Reporting
Track daily work progress, manpower, and equipment deployment for mechanical works.
Verify installed quantities and percentage progress against the baseline schedule.
Identify and report bottlenecks, delays, or deviations affecting progress.
Provide weekly site reports, including photos, test results, and EPC performance summaries.
Support the Construction Manager in preparing monthly progress and forecast reports.
7. Testing, Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning
Review and approve mechanical testing and commissioning procedures.
Witness and verify pre-commissioning tests, such as:
Pressure and leak tests for piping
Rotation, alignment, and vibration checks for rotating equipment
HVAC performance and air balancing tests
Fire suppression system integrity and alarm tests
Coordinate mechanical completion checks and issue mechanical completion certificates (MCC).
Ensure all systems are tested, cleaned, preserved, and handed over in line with project requirements.
8. BESS and PV System Interfaces
Supervise mechanical integration of battery containers, PCS skids, transformers, and auxiliary systems.
Verify HVAC, fire detection/suppression, and thermal management systems in BESS containers.
Ensure coordination of mechanical-electrical interfaces, including grounding and cable routing supports.
Support FAT and SAT activities for BESS mechanical subsystems.
9. Documentation & Record Management
Maintain an up-to-date record of inspections, test results, drawings, and correspondence.
Verify EPC’s submission of as-built drawings, test certificates, and O&M manuals.
Maintain daily site diaries, inspection logs, and material delivery records.
Ensure documentation supports handover and final acceptance requirements.
10. Coordination & Communication
Attend site coordination, QA/QC, and HSE meetings.
Coordinate with Electrical and Civil PMC Engineers to resolve interface issues.
Liaise with EPC’s field engineers and provide technical guidance where required.
Communicate key observations and risks to the Construction Manager promptly.
11. Professional Conduct

Maintain a solution-oriented approach to resolving technical and site challenges.
Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement among project teams.
Represent PMC and the Owner with technical competence and respect at all times.

salary negotiable;
Inside the site transport, PPE and laptop will be provided.
Food, accomodation and transportation is included in the salary.
