A PIM Stibo Developer (also known as a Stibo STEP Developer) is a specialist responsible for the implementation, configuration, customization, and support of the Stibo Systems platform for Master Data Management (MDM) and Product Information Management (PIM). A successful candidate for this role must possess deep technical knowledge, an understanding of business processes, and excellent communication skills.

Technical Competencies A strong foundation in several technologies and concepts is essential for a PIM Stibo Developer:

Stibo STEP Platform Expertise:

• This is the core requirement. A deep understanding of the platform's architecture is necessary, including data modeling (attributes, hierarchies, classifications), configuration of business rules, workflows, and portals.

Programming Languages:

• The primary language for customizing and extending Stibo STEP functionality is Java. Proficiency in JavaScript is also crucial for configuring the user interface (Web UI) and client-side business logic.

Web Technologies:

• Knowledge of XML, XSLT, and JSON, along with web services (REST, SOAP), is essential for integrating the PIM system with other enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, e-commerce platforms, DAM).

Databases and SQL:

• Experience with relational databases (most commonly Oracle or MS SQL Server) and strong command of SQL are required for data analysis and scripting.

Integration Platforms (ESB) and ETL Tools:

• Understanding the principles of and experience with tools like MuleSoft, Talend, or Informatica is a significant advantage for building robust data pipelines.

Version Control Systems:

• Experience with Git is the standard for collaborative development and code management.
