Our partner — a HoReCa company based in Cyprus — is looking for an HR Director ready to relocate and build the HR function from scratch.
There’s no existing HR team yet — if you're excited by a greenfield setup, you’ll be the first person to shape the People strategy from the ground up.
What you'll be doing:
Recruitment of key frontline roles — waiters, hostesses, admins, and service staff — plus building your own HR team as the business scales;
Driving onboarding, motivation, and retention for the operational team that directly impacts daily service quality;
Implementing relevant HR metrics and best practices tailored for the HoReCa setup (shift-based work, high turnover, service standards);
Ideally, building out KPI systems for both operational and back-office roles;
Exploring HR process automation where possible to reduce manual load;
In the long term — launching internal training programs and L&D initiatives;
Focusing on consistency and service quality through onboarding, learning, and retention strategies (within the business’s pace and resources);
Acting as a strategic partner to the founders on all people-related topics.
What we’re looking for:
Experience as HRD / Head of HR, ideally in the hospitality or restaurant industry;
Willingness to build processes from zero, not just manage existing ones;
Experience in frontline hiring and building customer-facing teams is a strong plus;
Resilience and adaptability to fast-changing environments and the ability to handle conflicts inside teams or with service staff;
Fluent English — spoken and written — for internal communication and documentation;
Readiness to relocate to Cyprus — relocation support is discussed individually based on candidate’s priorities.
