Lead Backend Developer (Node.js/TypeScript)

Andersen is hiring a Lead Backend Developer (Node.js/TypeScript) for a Fintech project in Uzbekistan, focused on advancing an e-wallet platform and delivering secure, user-friendly digital payment solutions.

The customer is a leading fintech company in Uzbekistan, offering digital payment solutions such as P2P transfers, QR-based transactions, and utility payments. It serves millions of users and continues to expand through innovative subscription and lending services. The company has been recognized internationally with multiple awards for excellence in digital finance and is regarded as a pioneer in introducing technologies like open API integrations and QR-payments in the local market.

The project is an e-wallet, which is a modern payment tool that allows one to conveniently and safely use the capabilities of the service.

Responsibilities:

• Leading backend architecture and ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
• Setting coding standards and promoting clean code, TDD, and best practices.
• Contributing hands-on to complex development tasks and critical components.
• Collaborating with Product Managers and other Stakeholders to balance features, tech debt, and modernization.
• Driving CI/CD, observability, performance optimization, and incident response.
• Embedding security and compliance standards (GDPR, PCI-DSS).
• Mentoring and grow engineers through code reviews, coaching, and onboarding.
• Fostering a collaborative Agile environment with strong delivery processes.

Must-haves:

• Backend development experience (preferably Node.js and TypeScript) for 3+ years.
• Experience in architecture/design (Clean Architecture, DDD, microservices).
• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Proven track record in designing REST APIs and automated testing.
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and mentoring skills.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in a Tech Lead/Engineering Manager role.
• Experience with event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Fintech/Payments domain expertise.
• Advanced observability (logging, tracing, monitoring).
• Experience scaling systems for high traffic.
