Chief Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chief Accountant to join our Uzbekistan office and contribute to our team's success.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the company's financial operations comply with regulations and align with strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

• Organize the in-house accounting function and ensure efficient financial reporting
• Record all transactions in the accounting system in a timely manner
• Review the compliance of accounting and financial documents with the legislation of RA
• Prepare bank-related documents, including those for Internet banking systems
• Calculate payroll, taxes, and other employee-related payments such as sick leaves
• Provide supporting documents and explanations for both internal and external audits
• Participate in establishing and improving SOX controls within the organization
• Review tax aspects in contracts and minimize tax-related risks
• Prepare annual financial statements, tax returns, and statistical reports, considering withholding taxes, export/import operations
• Represent the company during tax inspections and audits of financial statements
• Plan cash flow and optimize financial processes to improve efficiency
• Develop or refine company policies to comply with local regulations and organizational needs

Requirements:

• Finance or accounting background coupled with international accounting knowledge
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including as Chief Accountant managing large teams (>250 employees)
• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems (SAP preferred), MS Office (Excel proficiency required)
• Background in outsourcing or consulting companies is a plus
• Strong leadership and analytical skills, combined with the ability to work with complex datasets
• Capability to make independent decisions and handle high levels of responsibility
• Understanding of ACCA or DipIFR standards considered an advantage
• Proficiency in English at B1 level or above
