The Sommelier position is open for a new Waldorf Astoria hotel in Minsk.

Waldorf Astoria - the first international luxury Hotel in Belarus, situated in a prime city center location in Minsk, near the main city attractions and benefiting from an extensive river frontage. Splendid combination of main historical and newfangled recreations area in neighborhood.

A Sommelier is responsible for recommending wines and having a thorough and current knowledge of wines to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while assisting with achieving departmental targets.

What will I be doing?

As a Sommelier, you are responsible for recommending wines and having a thorough and current knowledge of wines to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Sommelier will also be required to assist in achieving department targets. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Conducting wine tastings, wine dinners, and masterclasses for guests and team members
• Development, maintenance, and management of the wine list in line with the concept of the hotel's restaurants and bars
• Training and development of staff on wine and alcoholic beverage knowledge
• Recommend wines to accompany relevant dishes to patrons

• Collaboration with the Executive Chef to create gastronomic pairings

• Liaising with suppliers, managing procurement, overseeing the wine cellar, and ensuring proper storage

• Inventory control, reporting, and maintaining a database of rare and premium wines

Professional sommelier certification (WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, or equivalent)
