Ensure legal compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards applicable to the trading sector.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents related to trading activities, including sales contracts, purchase agreements, and partnership agreements.
Identify and assess legal risks associated with trading operations and develop strategies to mitigate such risks effectively.
Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the trading industry, and advise the company on compliance requirements and regulatory developments.
Manage and resolve legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
Engage external legal advisors when necessary.
Provide guidance on corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder relations, and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
Provide legal advice and support to various departments within the company, including finance, human resources, and operations, on legal matters impacting their functions.
Conduct legal due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions to identify legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Protect the company's intellectual property rights by managing trademark, copyright, and patent portfolios, and enforcing intellectual property rights as necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
5+ years of proven experience in a similar position practicing law, preferably with a focus on corporate, commercial, or regulatory matters in the trading industry and/or banking/finance.
Strong understanding of international trading laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual: English and Russian.
